William J. Scarpino is the founder and principal of Associates for Success, a management consulting firm specializing in conflict management, dispute resolution, strategic planning, lease and contract intervention, and management consulting. He is also the founder and editor of www.how-to-negotiate.com, a web site dedicated to resolving conflict in our daily lives.
Mr. Scarpino is a former Senior Vice President of Sizzler
International, Vice President of Collins Foods
International, and President of Collins Property Portfolio,
Inc. During his 23 year career at Collins Foods, Mr.
Scarpino managed and evolved the real estate department of
Sizzler and Collins Foods into a wholly owned real estate
subsidiary providing full spectrum real estate asset
management support.
Such activities encompassed strategic planning, site
selection, negotiations, entitlement processing,
construction management, lease management, contract
management, property accounting, development related legal
affairs, corporate development, labor relations and general
management. Mr. Scarpino is also experienced with restaurant
operations and development.
From 1976 through 1990, Mr. Scarpino sat on the National
Association of Corporate Real Estate Executives' Board of
Directors chairing its ethics, education, and membership
committees. From 1990 through 1992, Mr. Scarpino served as
the President of the Institute for Corporate Real Estate.
From 1992 through 1994, Mr. Scarpino served as Chairman of
the Board of NACORE and subsequently as Chairman of the
Board of Trustees.
He graduated from Whittier College with a BA in Political
Science and received an MBA in Organizational Development
from Loyola Marymount, and has a Masters of Corporate Real
Estate professional designation from the Institute of
Corporate Real Estate. Mr. Scarpino co-authored "Corporate
Real Estate", published by the Institute of Corporate Real
Estate, and has taught at the University of Southern
California, the University of California at Los Angeles, and
the Institute of Corporate Real Estate.
William Scarpino serves as a pro-bono a court approved
Ventura County Civil Mediator and serves on the Ventura
County Court Mandatory Mediation Panel.
